Aware

Have you ever looked for your phone, panicked, and then realized it was in your hand the entire time? I know I have done this plenty of times with my phone, with my keys, even with God.

10 "The light was in the world,
and the world came into being through the light,
but the world didn’t recognize the light."
11 "The light came to his own people,
and his own people didn’t welcome him."

I was reading John 1:10-11 CEB and I understood this from it. When you are a born again Christian God is offering you all that He is which is everything good. If we fail to recognize what we have in God we fail to 1) acknowledge His presence and 2) reap the benefits of a relationship with God. John 1:11 says “He came to that which was his own, but his own did not receive him.” How can we receive what we are not aware of? — We can’t!

Look, I know it easier to be aware of God when everything is going great and we can trace His hand but when it’s dark and we need God’s presence, we have to purposely acknowledge and then receive all that God has for us. Last week I was feeling discouraged and I was not feeling motivated to get things done. I had a dream that same week and in that dream I was looking at some papers. It was more so a packet with writing on every page from the top to the bottom. On each paper was a recording of everything God had ever done for me.

I woke up thinking “how could I ever doubt God when He has always come through for?” I have to admit as soon as something of an inconvenience or if something wasn’t happening as fast as I would like it to happen I would completely forgot how God has always taken great care of me.

I say all of that to help you understand that you must remember and be aware of Jesus’ presence in your life to receive what he has for you. Remembering what He has done builds your faith and you have got to have faith in order to receive.

So today get a pen and some paper and make list of things that God has done for you.  Nothing is too big or too small to write about. Comment below with a couple things from your list!

With Love,

Taylor Danielle
